By Lake Norman Staff on December 15, Michael Miller, district attorney of Cleveland and Lincoln counties, released a letter to the press Nov. I have.
However, I will not call for an investigation for any citizen without some evidence of wrongdoing. Miller said he felt compelled to write the letter as it seemed misleading information was circulating, and his letter detailed 20 alleged facts.
Heavner allegedly saw the post and responded, pretending to be a female, not knowing he was communicating with another officer, the letter explained. Miller said he later identified the photograph Heavner used as a year-old police officer in another department.
Both parties were fully clothed. Miller explained that Hoza handles all of the child sex cases for Lincoln County, and she concluded that nothing in the s showed that the officer was searching for a minor or that Heavner was impersonating a female minor.
She was told there was a grievance between them and the Lincolnton Police Department. Miller was recently informed that Heavner had downloaded an app on his work phone that recorded all incoming and outgoing calls on his device. He allegedly intended to delete the recordings but failed to do so before handing the phone back in to the Lincolnton Police Department, the letter stated.
These recordings were used as evidence in the case. It also said the chief offered to help the officer to find marriage counseling, which he accepted.
